⚙️ Step 1 – Preparation
- Park the trailer on a level surface and ensure it is secured (wheel chocks recommended).
- Verify all parts are included with the bracket kit.
- 1 – Trailer Bracket (2 parts)
- 2 – 5/16” bolts x 1.5”
- 2 – 5/16” bolts x 4”
- 2 – 5/16” washers
- 2 – 5/16” nylon lock nuts
- 1 – 3/8” bolt x 4”
- 1 – 3/8” washer
- 1 – 3/8” nylon lock nut
- Identify the mounting location on the trailer frame, ensuring adequate clearance for the bracket function.
- This location should be on the rear cross member of the trailer.
✏️ Step 2 – Mark Mounting Location
- Using the tape measure, measure and mark the exact location for the bracket holes.
- Use the tape measure to find the center of the rear crossmember.
- Place Trailer bracket in desired location and mark holes. Confirm alignment so the bracket will sit level and square on the frame.
- Confirm trailer backet will operate how it is intended. If there are any questions, consult with us for proper installation.
- Use a marker or center punch to mark drill points.
🔧 Step 3 – Drill Mounting Holes
- Select the 3/8” drill bit.
- Drill through the trailer frame at the marked locations.
- Drill slowly and apply steady pressure.
- Wear safety glasses and gloves.
🔩 Step 4 – Position the Bracket
- Place the bracket against the trailer frame, aligning the holes.
- Insert bolts through the bracket into the drilled holes. Use 5/16” hardware here. 1.5” length for I-Beam Trailers. 4” length for Box frame Trailers.
🪛 Step 5 – Secure Fasteners
- Use the #3 Phillips screwdriver (for the bolts securing trailer bracket) or socket & ratchet (for bolts/nuts) to tighten the hardware.
- Use the 5/16” hardware to fasten trailer bracket to trailer crossmember.
- Use 3/8” hardware to fasten Female Threaded piece to trailer bracket. Ensure the angled cut on the bottom of the Female Threaded piece is facing up.
- Ensure all fasteners are tightened evenly and the bracket sits flush against the frame.
✅ Step 6 – Final Check
- Verify the bracket is securely attached and does not shift under hand pressure.
- Inspect all fasteners for proper torque.
- Clean up the work area and store tools safely.
⚠️ Safety Note: Always wear safety glasses when drilling. Periodically check fasteners during routine trailer maintenance to ensure the bracket remains secure.
